Description

It is not often of late that I have built wingy things, however when a good friend of mine asked me to build this one I liked what I saw.

This is the old Lindberg 1/48 scale X-3 Stilletto.

There is not much to this kit at all, but boy oh boy, it was a challenge to construct, with a lot of flash and gaps galore to fill in with that great Squadron putty.

Once construction was completed, I masked off the windows and sprayed on three coats of Tamiya flat white and left this to dry. Next I then sprayed on two coats of Tamiya clear, again left to dry and then applied the decals, which were excelent, nice and glossy and went on well. This was then sprayed with a further two coats of clear and left to dry for two days.

Once dry I removed the masks, and then glued on the landing gear and the kit was complete.

With all the challenges I had with this kit, I still really enjoyed building it and am happy with the end result.

Thanks to Hans for the project.
