Kagero’s new title on the Heinkel He 219 is presented between soft cover and is a full colour glossy publication in standard A4 format.

The publication covers the Heinkle He 219 Uhu night fighter aircraft, containing 88 pages written in English text.

There are 64 pages giving a comprehensive overview of the development, production and service life of the dedicated night fighter aircraft.  The He 219 is one of the few aircraft specifically designed as a dedicated night fighter aircraft and certainly one of the most deadly and successful at this task.  Also included are approximately 85 black and white period photographs.  These detail the development and service life of the aircraft including some very nice shots of detail of the aircraft probably taken of the aircraft on the production line.  There are also some sad photos of damaged and destroyed aircraft towards the end of the war, not a very fitting end for such a purposeful aircraft.

14 pages are dedicated to 63 colour photographs of the restored fuselage and engine nacelles of He 219 A-2 W.Nr 290202 which is on display at the National Aerospace Museum in the United States.  These are excellent and capture the detail excellently.  Unfortunately the wings were still being meticulously restored when the photographs were taken and are not included

8 pages and 1 foldout of very detailed 1/72 and 1/48 scale drawings of the different variants are also included.  The larger scale drawings are included in the loose foldout sheet.  Also included are five colour plates depicting colour schemes flown on five of the aircraft.  The colour plates include He 219 A-0 W.Nr 190070 of Stab I./NJG 1 in 1944, He 219 A-0 W.Nr 190113 of Erprobungstelle Rechlin in 1944,. He 219 A-0 W.Nr 190012 of 2./NJG 1 in 1944, He 219 A-0 W.Nr 29012 of I./NJG 1 in 1944 and He 219 A-7 W.Nr 310188 of Stab 3./NJG 1 in 1945.

Included in the publication are a complete set of excellent laser cut 1/48 scale masking foils for the inside/outside of the canopy and wheel hubs.

This is quite a comprehensive and well illustrated publication and will be a welcome addition to the collection of any person or modeller wanting good reference detail for the Heinkle 219 variants.
