Afterburner Decals has sent the following information about their next five decal releases - available at the IPMS USA Nationals in Omaha:
This is our new stuff, due out for NATS:
48-076 - "Roman Empire" covers VFA-106 from A-4Bs through this year, and includes accurate markings for both of the Gladiators' "Centennial of Naval Aviation" commemorative schemes. There are markings for an A-4B from USS Shangi-La in 1962, an A-4C from USS Independence in 1964 and an A-4E from USS Intrepid in 1968. Also, the CAG jet from 2009 an F/A-18E, the COs jet from 2010 an F/A-18C, an F/A-18C line jet from 2010, a TF-18A...one of the first Hornets in the fleet, from 1985 and 2 beautiful F/A-18D CAG jets from 1990 and 2005. This is a very complete history of the markings for one of the most well known squadrons in naval aviation.
48-077 - is the 3rd installment of the popular "Superbug CAGs" line, and features markings for 8 superb looking Super Hornets and Growlers. Included are markings for an F/A-18F from VX-9 in their Centennial of Naval Aviation "throwback" scheme, the new scheme for the VFA-14 F/A-18E CAG, an F/A-18F CAG of VX-23 with the special scheme for the testing of a new biofuel for the navy, the new VFA-102 "Throwback" scheme on an F/A-18F, VFA-84s CO jet is an F/A-18F with the new black/white colors, VAQ-132s CAG with the new Desert Tail, an EA-18G that saw action over both Iraq and Libya recently, VFA-195s brand new F/A-18E CAG with their standard outstanding markings, and VFA-213s CAG, an F/A-18F. There is literally something here for everybody who loves Super Hornets.
48-078 - "Blackbirds Part #1" is a radical departure, being the first foray into SR-71s. For a long time, there has been clamoring for good markings for the SR-71s that haunt everybody's stash. Now, the excuse is removed from building them! The sheet covers 11 jets, from the mid 90s through retirement, including a NASA jet, and several combat jets with mission markings and tail art. Full stencils and extensive modeling notes.
48-079 - "Blackbirds Part #2" is the second part of the SR-71 line, and features 14 incredible aircraft, including the YF-12 in 2 schemes, an SR-71B, and focuses on the early years of Habu operations including Vietnam combat jets, record holders and test jets.
48-080 - "Desert Storm Intruders" covers A-6Es and a KA-6D from Operation Desert Storm, and features 2 aircraft from VA-65 USS Theodore Roosevelt, the CAG jet with "Garfield" art, and their experimental 2-tone brown camouflaged jet, 3 jets from VA-36 USS Theodore Roosevelt, the CAG jet in 2 eras, one with nose art, the COs jet and a line jet. Also included are the CAG jet and a line jet from VA-35 USS Saratoga, VA-85s CAG from USS America and 3 jets from VA-75 USS John F. Kennedy, the CAG and COs jets plus a KA-6D. All have plenty of mission marks, art and will allow those guys who love grungy combat iron haulers to do their worst weathering these birds!
All will be available starting August 3rd. These are regular releases, available directly from the website or retailers but those who attend the IPMS NATS will be able to purchase them first at the show.
