Messerschmitt Bf 110 E

Messerschmitt Bf 110 E
7./ZG 26, Mediterranean, 1941/42

Eduard's 1/72 scale Messerschmitt Bf 110 E is available online from Squadron

Description

Here is my 1/72 scale Eduard Messerschmitt Bf 110 E. A detailed in box review of this kit appeared on HyperScale last month.

Eduard's new Bf 110 is a pleasure to build and detail is excellent.

The combination of plastic and photo-etched parts in the cockpit deliver a level of detail normally only expected in larger scale kits.

The major parts of the kit fit flawlessly, and traditionally challenging areas such as the nacelles, the gun nose, the undercarriage legs and the wheel wells are engineered for ease of assembly and perfect alignment.

My model was built straight from the box except for the addition of Eduard's resin BRASSIN wheels (Item No. 672003).

Decals were sourced from Eduard Decals' new sheet no. D72001. I liked this Mediterranean scheme as it offered the chance to use the big 900 litre wing tanks and the auxiliary centreline oil tank. These are included in the kit.

Construction and finishing of this model will be described in Issue 19 of ADH Publishing's newest model magazine, "Military Illustrated Modeller". The new Eduard kit was built side-by-side with the Airfix 1/72 scale Bf 110 C, which also features in the article.

Military Illustrated Modeller is available at WH Smiths and other newsstands.

It may also be ordered online directly from the Military Illustrated Modeller website.

The electronic version is also available for iPad, iPod, Mac, PC and Android devices.
