ESCI 1/48 scale
Dassault Mirage IIIS

by Thierry Reverdin

Dassault Mirage IIIS

Heller's 1/72 scale CL-415 is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Of course, Kinetic's release of the 1/48 Kinetic Mirage IIIE/O/R/RD/EE/EA is making the buzz and many people expect future versions, such as the Swiss Mirage IIIS, RS and DS.

But a IIIE with Swiss roundels is probably still far away.

I therefore built an old 1/48 ESCI (now Italeri) modified Mirage IIIE. Oldies can be goodies too.

Some (a lot) of scratch building, scribing, watches very small parts, adhesive aluminium, self made Canard C70 (the small wings on the air ducts), self made ventral tank (called IMI RUNT), chaff and flares dispenser, modified front gear door, strakes on the nose…

It's still not THE IIIS model, but it looks like a Mirage IIIS, no?

Canard, tank and JATO sets are still available at: aero48-gva@hotmail.com

Enjoy the pics and best regards from Geneva, Switzerland
