The SW-4 “Solo” is a Rotor Unmanned Aircraft System/ Optionally Piloted Helicopter. It is based on light, single engine, manned PZL-widnik SW-4 “Puszczyk” helicopter, and is made for the Italian Ministry of Defence  to evaluate modern remote controlled rotorcraft technology, as well for British Ministry of Defence as a part of the UK’s RWUAS (Rotary Wing Unmanned Air System) Capability Concept Demonstrator (CCD) programme.

Flight trials, undertaken both in Italy and Poland, are progressing well. Test activities undertaken include system monitoring, “hands off” and remote controlled manoeuvres, hovering and a range of mission profiles.

This model is based on die-cast kit.

However it is completely rebuilt, including thinning of the metal fuselage walls, stripping off paint, making new transparencies, scratchbuilding of skids, rotor head, armament, and many minor items. Decals are custom made.
