Description

A small box turned up on the doorstep yesterday. There was no advance email that it was on the way, and no notes included, just four test shot sprues from Eduard's forthcoming 1/72 scale Avia B.534 kit.

The first release will be the Royal Class boxong, with four full kits of four variants plus markings for at least 30 aircraft.

I have received the plastic parts for the B.534 IV Serie with the fully enclosed cockpit. The IV Serie fuselage is moulded without cockpit inserts, which means you'll have less join lines to fill.

There are 61 pieces in coloured injection moulded plastic (don't expect to see the orange colour in the production kit!) and another eight in clear plastic.

The surface detail is exquisite. Panel lines are very fine and fabric texture on the fuselage is just beautiful. Raised details are included as well, and they are equally subtle. The fuselage machine guns and exhaust stubs, moulded as part of the fuselage halves, look great.

The wings and tail planes feature intricate rib tape detail including raised stitching.

Smaller parts are equally well detailed.

Clear parts are thin and free from distortion. Separate parts are supplied for open and closed canopies. Clear parts for all the variants are included on this circular sprue.

I'll let the pictures tell the story for the rest of the parts.

This is another exciting release from Eduard. Obviously the Royal Class boxing will have photo-etched parts, perhaps resin parts and probably bonus extras, but the plastic parts by themselves are suitably impressive.

I can't wait to see the final product.

Thanks to Eduard for the test shot sprues.
