Roy Sutherland has sent the following information and images of their newest releases in Barracuda Studios' range of accessories, available now:

Barracuda Studios is proud to announce the new Tempest Nose Correction set for the Special Hobby Tempest. I have a special place in my heart for the Hawker Tempest, so I'm very excited to see what you guys will do with these sets!

Don't forget our other Tempest upgrade parts are also in stock and ready to dress up your kit. Our resin wheel sets for the Tempest are the only accurately proportioned ones on the market. Note the very cool block tread tyres on this postwar Target Tug Tempest. Fancy a post war build? We've got you covered!

BR32334 - Tempest V Nose Correction Set
1/32 scale

USD$24.95 - http://barracudacals.com/proddetail.php?prod=BR32334

This set is designed to correct the nose, radiator, prop and spinner on the otherwise superb Special Hobby Tempest V. The problem with the kit nose is that the spinner baseplate diameter is too big by about 2 inches. This throws out the taper of the forward cowling.

The radiator opening is also too big. This causes problems with the shape of the radiator housing.

The spinner also has some shape issues, which we have fixed with an all new spinner. The kit prop blades have also been replaced by a more accurate set.

The new nose is cast in one piece for ease of installation, and the fine riveted surface detail has been replicated (no easy task!). Our reference came from the highly respected Arthur Bentley Tempest drawings, as well as measurements from original Hawker drawings of the Tempest V nose and spinner. Set also includes a prop alignment jig and full color, illustrated instructions.

A real improvement to the accuracy of an otherwise great kit.

Thanks to Anthony Galbraith and Kerry Carlyle for their excellent work on the nose and spinner patterns.
