FirstLook

GasPatch Models has been in the spotlight recently thanks to their beautiful pair of injection moulded 1/48 scale Henschel Hs 123 kits, but they also produce a good-sized line of accessories.

These include a range of machine guns that are suitable for WWI, between-the-wars and WWII subjects.

All guns include breech and barrels. Some of the sets include photo-etched buckles and hardware while others, notably the Vickers K gun, feature mind-bogglingly fine ring and bead sights in resin. These almost look as fine as photo-etched parts, but with the benefit of a three-dimensional appearance.

The Vickers and Lewis gun sets include spare magazines.

Casting quality is to the highest standard, while detail is amazingly crisp. The guns really are very impressive indeed.

There will be no cleanup required prior to assembly and painting - the grey resin parts are ready to go straight from the box.

Some of the parts are delicate, so care will be required when handling and painting.

As noted in the table above, either two or four machine guns are included in each set.

Packaging is simple but effective. The parts are contained in a clear blister pack and immobilised by custom-cut foam to ensure the delicate parts are delivered in perfect condition. All of my samples are free from any damage.

Instructions are not included, nor are they really required. Assembly is pretty much self-explanatory.

This is only a selection of the guns on offer. I would encourage you to visit GasPatch Models' website to see the full range available.

Conclusion

GasPatch describe these guns as "Elite Accessories" and this is no exaggeration. They have delivered a truly exquisite line of beautifully detailed resin machine guns. They're not cheap by any means, but in my opinion they are worth the price, in particular the flexible defensive guns that will be on show.

GasPatch's resin guns will be the jewel in the crown of your WWI, between-the-wars and WWII aircraft models in a variety of scales.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to GasPatch Models for the samples.
