Italeri's 1/72 scale C-47 Skytrain is available online from Squadron.com for only $25.99!

Description

The famous Douglas DC-3 was widely used throughout the world as a commercial aircraft, where most were military specimens modified for civilian use.

In Brazil it was no different where war surpluses were used and very successfully for decades. As an example REAL became the largest operator of the type in the world with 86 units in 1959!

Another major operator in the country was VARIG, which had 47 units in use between 1947 and 71.

Sadia (which would become Trans Brasil) used only 11 units between 1956 and 68.

Painting and Markings

The models I used were from Italeri in 1/72, being the C-47 Skytrain.

With few changes, I then made the three airlines I mentioned, with decals made by Brazilian modelers.
