Xtradecal continues its ambitious new release schedule with two new decal sheets for 1/72 scale Lockheed F-104 Starfighters.

 

 

Tonight I am examining the second instalment in 1/72 scale covering 13 international F-104Gs, Js and Ss.

 

A selection of finishes are available here - bare metal, greys, camouflage and even a bright blue and white NASA scheme, in service with a nice variety of countries.

  • F-104G Starfighter, 'R-345' of Esk.723 Flyvevåbnet, (Royal Danish Air Force), based at Aalborg, Denmark, 1980s.

  • CF-104G Starfighter, '4870' of 331 Skvadron, Luftforsvaret, (Royal Danish Air Force), based at Bodø, Norway, late-1970s.

  • F-104G Starfighter, '12623/FG-623', of Türk Hava Kuvvetleri (Turkish Air Force), based in Turkey, 1965.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across two folded double-sided A4 and one double-sided A5 sheets.

 

 

Both side views plus upper and lower views are provided for all 13 aircraft.

 

 

National markings are included for all 13 subjects.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

 

 

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

This release will be very welcome for anyone building a 1/72 scale F-104G/J/S Starfighter kit.
