FM's 1/48 scale Halifax is available online from Squadron
 

Here is my Fonderie Miniature 1/48 scale Handley Page Halifax model with modifications including the fitting of 4 new engines, cowlings, exhausts, intakes and propellers from the Tamiya Beaufighter.

So as not to waste two kits I was able to obtain all the parts required direct from HobbyLink Japan.

The wingtips are not correct for Friday 13th as they are the rounded type. I sawed them off and reshaped them to the correct square type.

The canopy on the pilot's side is also not deep enough and needs new glazing added at the bottom.

The rear glazing on the cockpit was also removed from the kit parts and new windows and tubing made.

The plastic is quite rough and a fair bit of time rescribing and refining was required.

Other than the nose art, all decals were replaced from the Xtradecal range.

The finish is Xtracolor enamels.
