Here is my 1/48 scale
Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter
I used the Aires detail set and the Aeromaster “Whispering death” decal
sheet.
The fit was excellent and the Aires set is just marvellous.
I decided to build a fairly new Australian bird, so not too dirty. The
build was without any problem.
After the build I preshaded the complete plane.
Then the bottom was sprayed with Tamiya Sky, to bring some life into the
bottom I sprayed some of the panels with mixtures of very diluted
sky-orange and sky-blue.
Then the brown and the
green were sprayed, here also the same technique was used the break the
monotone colours, very diluted mix of brown-orange and green-orange.

Now its time to future the plane. Then decals and future again.
Before the weathering starts I went trough the panel lines with a very
fine pen with water based black ink.
The weathering itself was done with oil paints, bunt umber and dark
grey, but not too much since I wanted to make a Beaufighter that was
fairly new in service.
Finally, the model was sealed with a mix of future and Gunze clear matt
to finish it off.

This is a nice kit, it won’t be the last I have made.
