      Here is my old 1/48 scale Monogram Kingfisher.
      After rescribing, the following modifications were performed on the 
        model: 
      Fuselage 
      
        - 
          
kit cockpits were replaced with the Cutting Edge resin cockpit sets 
            and a Waldron photo-etched ring sight was installed 
         
        - 
          
front panel of windscreen replaced to eliminate opening for telescopic gun
            sight 
         
        - 
          
all kit canopies thinned to improve appearance 
         
        - 
          
 hand hold added to bottom of engine cowl 
             
         
        - 
          
kit engine replaced with Engines and Things resin engine  
         
        - 
          
ignition wires and pushrods added to resin engine 
         
        - 
          
propellor blades reshaped to correct profile 
         
        - 
          
kit engine cowl replaced with Cutting Edge resin cowl  
         
        - 
          
exhaust pipes drilled out 
         
        - 
          
stretched sprue antenna wire 
         
        - 
          
 rear deck light made from clear sprue 
         
        - 
          
tie down ring added 
         
        - 
          
sliding canopy stops added 
         
       
        
        
        
      Floats 
      
        - 
          
main and outrigger floats replaced with Cutting Edge resin floats 
         
        - 
          
correct style Australian water rudder linkage added 
         
        - 
          
tie down points and assist handles added to outrigger floats  
         
        - 
          
main float support wires made from guitar strings 
         
       
       
      Wings 
      
        - 
          
 kit pitot tube replaced with hypodermic needles 
         
        - 
          
 landing light replaced with MV Products lens 
         
        - 
          
elevator and rudder trim tab linkage added 
         
       
        
        
        
      Paint and Decals 
      
        - 
          
airframe painted with Xtracolor X5 Extra Dark Sea Grey BS640, X25 Dark Slate Grey and X602 SU 27 Pale Blue 
         
        - 
          
national insignia from Red Roo sheet RRD4845, while the squadron codes are painted on 
         
        - 
          
aircraft weathered with chalk pastels
