Colin Owers completes his study of the Curtiss Jenny with this second installment in the Datafile series.

This volume focuses on the aircraft in British, Australian and Canadian service. As with its predecessor, the book is profusely illustrated with an excellent array of period photographs. These number over 100 and the large A4 format allows an exceptional level of detail to be gleamed from many of them.

The author himself provides the general arrangements drawings and these are of the Curtiss JN-4(Can). Both 1:72 and 1:48 scale views are included as well as some handy rigging diagrams courtesy of the JN 4-D handbook.

The text is in the usual easy to read style we have become accustomed to and is full of interesting facts and anecdotes.

A colours and markings section describes the finish seen on the Canadian and British examples which are backed up with a list of known presentation aircraft. Ronny Bar compliments the chapter with his superb colour profiles and Robert Karr gives the reader yet another imaginative painting for the cover.

The book concludes with a number of tables, one being of the various types of USAS Curtiss Jenny aircraft on hand in December 1919. Another refers to the allocation of British RNAS serial numbers while a third provides a very handy recognition guide for aircraft of the JN series.

If you have any interest in the Curtiss Jenny, then this two volume set is indispensible.
