Italeri's 1/72 scale
Douglas C-47

Douglas C-47

Italeri's 1/72 scale C-47 Skytrain is available online from Squadron

Description

This is a C-47 Dakota of the French Air Force, Squadron E.L.A. 43, Air Base BA 106 Bordeaux-Merignac in the late 1960s.

The model represents an aircraft flown by my father. It was made for his birthday.

Model: Italeri, 1 / 72. Straight from the box, as you say ! I just added the radio cables (black painted fishing line).

Paint: Tamiya enamel, spray and brush.

Decals: Berna-Decal No: BD 72-12. But the squadron insignia was designed and printed on paper (thank you to The Gimp…). The paper is delicately refined by scraping to become as fine as possible, and then glued. The serial-number is made by cutting and placing the Berna-Decal numbers properly.

My father is very happy (memories, memories...) and personally, I find that the French roundels are a nice decoration on that plane!

A simple but nice decor, changing camouflage of World War II.

I hope you enjoy too ...
