Skunkmodels has produced a sequel weapons set as a follow-up to its earlier releases of weapons sets some months ago. This one is dedicated to modern US/NATO weapons.

Skunkmodels of China has produced this set to contain the following weapons:

  • 4 x AGM-154 Jsow (Joint Standoff Weapon),

  • 4 x AGM-84G Harpoon (Anti ship missile),

  • 4 x AGM-84F Slam (Standoff Land Attack Missile),

  • 4 x AGM-84H Slam-er (Standoff Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response Missile),

  • 4 x AIM 2000 Iris-T (Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled Air to Air Missile) and,

  • 16 x GBU-39 SDB (Small Diameter Bomb)

  • 4 x BRU-61/A rack to carry 4 each GBU-39 SBD.

The parts are moulded in medium grey injection moulded plastic to a superb standard with detail finer than the earlier Hasegawa US Weapons sets.

Each weapon is made up from multiple parts all with separate flying surfaces and fins. The detail is so finely moulded that even the contour on the missile fins has been faithfully reproduced.

The AGM-64 Slam-er and AGM-154 Jsow wings are modelled in the folded position.  The BRU-61/A racks for the GBU-39 are made up from 11 parts and each carries 4 of the GBU-39.

Included are a comprehensive set of decals for each weapon.  The rocket motor nozzle for the AGM-84H has some really nice detail representing the actual depth of the nozzle and not just a blank face.  Clear parts are provided to represent the optical sensors on the AGM-84E Slam missile.

The decal markings include data and explosive recognition stripes are so concise that at least 6 are provided for the AGM-84 series to 16 decals for the AGM-84 Slam-er.

A colour instruction for paint scheme and decal placing is printed on the back of the presentation box and paint colours are given as Gunze Mr Colour paint numbers and the actual colour or FS number is also given.

Conclusion

This is an excellent addition for the latest kits of the US and NATO Forces that have recently hit the market from various manufacturers and allows the modeller to represent aircraft used with these later weapons.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Lucky Model for the samples
