OH Models produces a line of fine quality decal sheets with this one depicting the Foreign Spitfire Mk.IXc/e in1/32 scale designed for the Tamiya or Pacific Coast 1/32 scale Spitfire Mk.IX.

The decals are superbly printed by Fantasy Printshop with good colour saturation and excellent register.  As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Fantasy Printshop decals is that they will snuggle down into the surface detail well.  I always use decal setting solution but this is not absolutely necessary.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

The instruction sheet is in full colour and contains the set contains marking for six aircraft as follows:

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc Serial number TD281, code MN.S, of 350 Sqn Militaire Vllegwezen/Aviation Millitaire, Force Aerleene Belge, Fassberge in Summer 1946.  The aircraft was finished in Ocean Grey and Dark Green Drab upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey lower surfaces and has a black propeller spinner.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe Serial number ex PL375, code 41/407, of Flyvevabnet based at Copenhagen Airport, Kastrap in 1950.  The aircraft was finished in Ocean Grey and Dark Green Drab upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey lower surfaces and has a white propeller spinner with a red tip.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc Serial number MA574, code A, of GC 1/7 ‘Provence’, Armee de L’Air, based in Algeria in late 1943.  The aircraft was finished in Dark Earth and Middle Stone upper surfaces and Azure Blue lower surfaces and has a Red propeller spinner.

  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe Serial number YV.17, of 4th Air Regiment, Turk Hava Kuvvetieri, based at Kutahya in 1948-50.  The aircraft was finished in Ocean Grey and Dark Green Drab upper surfaces and Medium Sea Grey lower surfaces and has a Red and White propeller spinner.
