Airfix's 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1/3/4
is available online from Squadron for less than $15.00!
Here is my 1/48 scale Airfix Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3, built around the same time as I finished the Pegasus Hobbies kit seen earlier on HyperScale.
Some time ago both were reviewed on this website and turned the propeller in my head so I had to get me a piece of each. The Airfix kit turned out to be very nice, with many options.
Not so nice were some sink and ejector marks but nothing the average modeller can´t deal with. Fitting is quiet good.
I painted this one using Testor's Model Master enamels for the RLM02/71 colours and Revell acrylics for the RLM65. Some weathering was made with pastels and was sealed using Testor's Dullcote.
I used Cutting Edge decals for this version.
All in all I liked this build, loved the options and now I can compare it with the Tamiya, Hobbycraft and Pegasus back home.
