True Details was one of the pioneers of resin accessories, releasing a range of cockpits and wheel sets in the 1990s and early 2000s before a hiatus.

I used a number of the True Detail cockpits and wheels at the time, and bought many more that are still in my collection.

I always appreciated the high quality casting, improved level of detail compared to the donor kits and simple parts breakdown that were the hallmarks of this brand. As someone getting back into the hobby and starting to explore the use of aftermarket parts, these cockpits and wheel sets were the ideal way forward.

I was pleased to see a renewal of the brand in the last few years, with a number of cockpits and correction sets.

True Details has taken another interesting turn with their latest releases - 1/32 scale resin US WWII parachutes.

Two sets are offered. They both represent the Type AN-6510 parachute.

Set #1, TD32508, shows the parachute with the pack facing up, while Set #2, TD32509, is cast with the seat lying on its back with the pack tilted up and the harness straps shown to good effect.

Both these sets will be really interesting additions to a pilot figure, an aircraft (resting on the wing or beside the fuselage) or a diorama.

I found the easiest way to prepare the parachute was to trim off the surrounding resin with a hobby knife then sand the back of the parachute against a course sanding stick to thin the casting puddle.

No assembly is required as each parachute is cast as a single part. Just clean up the surrounding resin waste, prime and paint and you're done!

These are simple but well detailed and original accessories. I hope that we'll be seeing Lufwaffe and RAF packs in the future too.

Welcome back, True Details!

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to Squadron for the review sample.
