FirstLook

Icarus Productions has delivered this great sheet of Hellenic R/F-4s and T/R/F-104s in small scale. Enough airframe numbers are supplied to build any of these jets and enough basic stencils are supplied to build a total of seven aircraft. This great to see as many manufacturers only supply a limited set of stencils per sheet. The decals are manufactured by Cartograf and as expected they look flawless on the sheet. Carrier film is minimal and the colours look rich and dense.

A highlight of the sheet is the famous ‘Tiger’ F-104 that is now on static display at the HAF Museum in Athens. The scheme is quite striking and will look great in the small scale. Generic four view colour profiles are provided for the paint schemes and colours are called out in FS numbers. Several of the F-4’s have colours callouts in RAL as per the Norm 83A/B schemes that they originally wore in the German Air Force.

Historical information for each aircraft type is provided including the schemes that they flew with.

Conclusion

Icarus Productions have been providing subject material covering the Hellenic Air Force for a while now and the addition of the F-4 and F-104 variants in the smaller scale is a welcome addition. With enough decals and basic stencils provided to build seven aircraft the choice is excellent. A big hat tip goes to Icarus Productions for this comprehensive sheet. Highly recommended.
