P-51D Mustangs

Airfix's 1/72 scale P-51D Mustang is available online from Squadron.com for only $5.24!

Here are two P-51D Mustangs in 1/72 scale in Swiss Air Force colors.

The first model (J-2076) was built from the new Airfix kit, and the second (J-2113) is from Academy. I detailed both models with Eduard photo-etched sets.

I also substituted the canopies with vacu-formed items from Squadron and the wheels with resin pieces from True Detail.

The models were painted with Talon Acrylics which unfortunately are no longer available.

The decals are from MC-One.

They are excellent and were the main reason I built these two thoroughbreds for my collection.
