Good scale finesse, very good quality production, |
Disadvantages: |
None noted. |
Conclusions: |
The detail set is a good quality accessory that has the potential to add considerable interest and scale finesse to Mark I Models or Attack Models MiG-19/Shenyang J-6 variants. The canopy mask is a handy help with paint prep is this tiny scale. I am happy to recommend both. |

The accessories reviewed here both come in zip-lock plastic bags and include instructions. They are intended for Mark I Models’ MiG-19 and Shenyang j-6/F-6 kits (which use the Attack Models’ tooling with new decals). Mark I have several different boxings of MiG-19 variants that can be viewed by using this link and scrolling down.

The PE fret includes an instrument panel, seatbelts, afterburner flame holders, outboard wing fences, a boarding ladder, undercarriage doors, ventral and side air-brakes, plus canard missile fins for the Shenyang F-6/F-6C kit.

There is also an incredibly finely cast resin pitot.

Serving as a packaging stiffener is a printed card display base depicting hexagonal concrete sections.
The paint mask, like the PE set, appears to be manufactured by Eduard, and should be a very useful item. I am unsure why it is only described as a MiG-19 canopy mask, as I would assume it would suit the J-6/F6 kits too (other than the FT-6 twin-seat trainer). Anyway, it is a handy item to have to assist with masking in this tiny scale.
