Every now and then, a product comes along that makes you sit back and go…wow.
These two resin engines from Small Stuff easily generate such a response.
The first thing that catches your eye is the careful packaging. The contents have been bagged in such a way that none of the items will fight each other before reaching your doorstep.

The finesse of each part is something to behold, with superb casting and not a blemish in sight. The attachment plugs are kept to a minimum and their placement ensures that no detail is lost during removal.
Don’t be intimidated by some of the smaller items. They may appear scary but positive location points greatly ease the building process. But what about those tiny spark plugs?
These delicate items are attached with the help of a simple, yet clever tool. It’s another resin part that consists of a long tube, attached to a rectangular handle. One merely wets the end of the tube, places it over the spark plug, and then snaps it off the casting block. While it’s still in the tool, place a drop of glue on the end and attach it directly to the cylinder. Easy!

The instructions are stress-free and extremely well laid out. It’s clear from the outset that this company takes a lot of pride in their releases.
The Clerget 9B/Z (130/110 hp) engine consists of 97 parts while the Gnome 9 Delta / Oberursel U.I (100 hp) rotary comprises 59. So you do have spares in each release should you be over zealous during the clean-up process.

It’s amazing how much detail has been incorporated into these 1:48 scale miniatures.
If you want the ultimate in engine detail and still have a product that is easy to assemble, then you can’t go past these gems.
    Highly Recommended
