Brengun has released a nicely detailed 50-Gallon British drop tank. A simple enough item, but one not commonly included with many WW2 British fighter kits.
The drop-tank comes in a small cellophane bag stapled to a card header along with a PE fret, instructions and a black backing paper.

The simple instructions provide clear drawings indicating how the tank’s carry-frame is to be assembled from the PE fret, and include a diagram showing the tank mounted on a Spitfire IX/XVI. They also mention that wire anti-sway bars must be scratch-built.

The parts are all of good quality, with easily removed resin casting blocks. I have seen shapes like this drop tank cast as one piece with a wafer thin attachment to the casting block around the nose. Brengun’s two-part approach requires a bit more work but should be OK provided that the joining faces are finished squarely.
I have included Brengun’s own images of an assembled but unpainted example.

This 50-Gal drop tank is nicely detailed and a handy accessory to have for selected WW2 British fighters; I happily recommend it.
Thanks to Brengun for the review sample.
