Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

Good quality, superb scale finesse, ease of use.

Disadvantages:

None noted.

Conclusions:

TThis is a good seatbelt and side console set that would best be used in conjunction with Yahu Models’ very nice instrument panel that is available separately. It should serve to enhance the appearance of any C.714 cockpit, I am happy to recommend it.

FirstLook

This Caudron C.714 set is intended for use with either the RS or Heller/Smer kits according to Yahu Models’ website. It comes in a zip-lock plastic bag with card header. Inside is a folded card backing with colour printed instructions and another small bag containing the PE and vinyl parts plus photo foil.

The set provides left and right PE consoles for the cockpit tub, behind which goes section of the photo-foil to provide instrument faces. This detail would obviously be complimented by the separately available ready to fit coloured instrument panel, YMA7217.

The seat belts are made from pre-cut and pre-coloured vinyl that peels off their backing sheet. The belt colour is a pale buff, but this can be painted to individual preference and dry-brushed etc. The various buckles are provided as individual PE parts.

The instructions do not mention the need, but I would be inclined to anchor the buckles and belts with CA or PVA glue rather than trust to the longevity of the vinyl’s adhesive backing.

The components all appear to be of good quality. Although potentially bit fiddly to assemble, a good looking seat with belts should result with care.

Conclusion

This is a good seatbelt and side console set that would best be used in conjunction with Yahu Models’ very nice instrument panel that is available separately. It should serve to enhance the appearance of any C.714 cockpit.

I am happy to recommend it.
