Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

Crisply printed, good quality.

Disadvantages:

Conclusions:

These are good quality Fw 190A balkenkreuze, and will compliment any brand kit that needs them. I think that swastikas should have been included to provide a complete set of national insignia, and to add some value to what is a rather expensive sheet in my opinion.

Eduard’s 1/72 FW 190A Balkenkreuze are available online from Squadron.com

FirstLook

Despite the note on the placement guide which reads “Designed exclusively for FW 190A by Eduard”, these decals will be equally well suited to other brand Fw 190A kits, and no doubt other subjects too. They are a sensible compliment to Eduard’s Fw 190A over-trees when these are offered.

A placement guide is included, and can also be downloaded as a PDF by clicking here.

The decals come in a re-sealable cellophane bag with a single-page A5 sized placement guide, card stiffener and protective tissue sheet. They are crisply printed and appear to be of very good quality, as we would expect from Eduard.

Whilst the title of the sheet is “Fw 190A Balkenkreuze”, it is really about providing national insignia for the Fw 190A. As such, and in my opinion, the sheet should logically have included swastikas as well; just as the decal sheets in Eduard’s Fw 190 kits do. Had swastikas been included the price might be more justified, as I think the asking price is a little expensive for what is quite a small and simple sheet.

Thanks to Eduard for the samples and images.
