This is a high quality package with a large choice of subjects, extensive instructions and excellent decals. Furball's Bandit Sundowners will be a great option for anyone planning to build one or more 1/48 scale F-5N kits.

Furball Aero-Design has a growing range of decals for modern subjects as well as performing decal design services for model companies.

One of their current batch of recent releases is "Bandit Sundowners VFC-111 F-54N/F" in 1/48 scale. This will be ideal for the recent AFV Club kit but will be equally suitable for other Freedom Fighter kits and conversions.

Eight aggressor subjects are covered - seven F-5Ns and one F-5F. They are finished in a pleasing variety of lo-viz grey, blue and brown schemes plus some dark blue thrown in.

Subjects are as follows:

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761531 “AF-104” 2017 (3 tone gray scheme with lo-viz shark mouth and rudder markings) =

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761591 “AF-120” 2017 (brown, tan, & green scheme with lo-viz shark mouth and rudder markings) 

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761532 “AF-116” 2017 (2 grays, & blue scheme with lo-viz shark mouth and rudder markings) 

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761565 “AF-110” 2017 (3 tone sand scheme with lo-viz shark mouth and rudder markings) 

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761575 “AF-101” 2017 (2 grays, & blue scheme with hi-viz shark mouth and rudder markings) 

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761547 “AF-105” 2016 “WWII 70th anniversary retro scheme”

  • VFC-111 F-5N 761550 “AF-121” 2017 (PAK-FA scheme)

Sufficient stencil markings are supplied for three complete models.

Comprehensive instructions are supplied over five double sided letter-sized sheets. These include large left and right side and slightly smaller upper and lower views of all subjects, plus a full-page stencil placement guide.

 

 

The decals are supplied on one large sheet with light and dark walkway and national markings, five colours of shark's mouth, five different coloured Sundowners fin/rudder sunbursts, plus additional stencils and general markings.

 

 

Decals are in register and perfectly printed.
