With all of the recent 1/72 scale decal releases for the new and forthcoming Airfix Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2 kits, Xtradecal has now extended their 1/48 scale FGR.2 decal family too.

The time Xtradecal has released a new decal set for ten 1/48 scale Phantom FGR.2s.

 

All ten aircraft are finished in the late grey camouflage. Details are as follows:

  • XV466 1435 Flight 'D/Desperation' RAF Mt Pleasant Falklands 1991;

  • XV421 1435 Flight 'F/Faith' F/O Ian Halden/Flt Lt Chris Weightman Falklands 1991;

  • XV401/B 228 OCU 64 Sqn RAF Wattisham 1988;

  • XV419/AA 19 Sqn RAF Wattisham 1991; XV499/I 23 Sqn RAF Leeming 1993;

  • XV419/G 29 Sqn RAF Coningsby 1981;

  • XV498/U 92 Sqn RAFG Wildenrath 1992;

  • XV490/R 74 Sqn RAFG Gutersloh 1992;

  • XT903/X 56 Sqn RAF Wattisham 1988;

  • XV406/CK 228 OCU RAF Wattisham 1987;

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one double-sided A5 sheets.

 

 

Both side views are provided for all ten aircraft.

 

 

National markings for each of the subjects are included.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.
