Xtradecal has released a new decal sheet for the Airfix Jet Provost T.3/T.3a released in 2016.

These decals will also be appropriate for the lovely 1/72 scale CMR Jet Provost kit, or even the ancient 1950s vintage original Airfix kit.

This sheet should not be confused with Item No. X72291, reviewed at the time by Mark Davies, which is replaced by this revised set.

Ten Jet Provosts are depicted on the sheet. Details are as follows:

  • T.3 XN577/45 RAF College Cranwell 1960's Overall Silver with Fluorescent orange panels;

  • XP629 Manby College of Air Warfare, 'The Macaws' Overall Lt Aircraft Grey RAF Collerne 1968;

  • XN554/60 CFS RAF Little Rissington 1968;

  • XN605/9 6 FTS RAF Acklington 1967

  • T.4 XR679 79(R) Sqn TWU RAF Brawdy 1984 Green/Grey Camo;

  • XR679 79(R) Sqn TWU RAF Brawdy 1989 Barley Grey;

  • T.51 CJ711 6 Sqn R.Ceylon AF 1971;

  • T.52 No 101 S.Arabian AS 1965;

  • E040 Venezuelan AF Palo Negro 1964;

  • T.52 103 Kuwait AF 1960's

National markings are provided for all options.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets. Both side plus upper and lower views are provided for all ten aircraft.

Colour notes are supplied, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

This updated release offers plenty of varied camouflage and marking options for modellers planning to build the new Airfix 1/72 scale Jet Provost, or any of its predecessors!

Highly Recommended.
