Here is Tamiya's brand new 1/72 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6. This is a beautiful kit and a joy to build. As you can see, surface textures are amazing and detail is excellent.

I substituted the decal straps with an Eduard STEEL harness, and the pitot tube is from fine copper wire, not because I wanted to replace it but the kit part fell off and I could not find it!

I added a short length of stretched sprue for the FuG 25a IFF antenna on the bottom of the fuselage too. Otherwise, the kit was built straight from the box.

I used AK's new Real Colors range for the first time on this model and I was very impressed. It thins beautifully for fine lines and mottling, coverage is excellent, dries fast and the finish is tough. I used the proprietary AK thinner, and I'm not really sure if it is a lacquer or an acrylic, but I will definitely be using this range again!

Decals are HAD Decals Item No. 72107.
Thanks to Tamiya for the sample.
