FirstLook

GasPatch Models has been in the spotlight recently thanks to their beautiful injection moulded 1/48 scale kits, but they also produce a good-sized line of accessories.

These include a growing range of machine guns that are suitable for WWI, between-the-wars and WWII subjects. They also offer wheels, gunsights and other related accessories.

Tonight I am reviewing GasPatch's 1/32 scale Ammo Belt Flexible Cal. 50. This will have a huge range of applications for any aviation or military .50 cal machine gun.

Packaging is simple but effective. The parts are contained in a clear blister pack and immobilised by custom-cut foam to ensure the belt is delivered in perfect condition.

My sample is free from any damage.

The 30 cm belt is coiled and cast onto a narrow post at the base of each bullet. A little time and care with a new hobby blade should result in the belt being ready for action cleanly and quickly.

Casting quality and decals are excellent. There is no resin flash present anywhere on my sample.

This is a great accessory for anyone building a 1/32 scale model with turret based or flexible .50 cal machine guns.

Thanks to GasPatch Models for the samples.
