Background

Hypersonic Models is a relatively new company, specialising in aircraft products to correct and enhance your models. I have put the company blurb below which explains the concept of the company.

Hypersonic Models are currently located in Sennan City, Osaka prefecture, Japan and products are manufactured, packed and shipped from there. All items for sale here are original Hypersonic Models' products, we don't act as re-sellers for other brands' or companies' products.
The background story goes:

As most things in life, Hypersonic Models came into being by accident. I wanted to make accurate 1:48 models of each of the three X-15's plus the X-15A-2 and perhaps also the early XLR-11 configuration. As I went along, I found more and more problems with the Special Hobby kit. So I started making many corrected and better detailed parts either from the plastic in the kit or completely from scratch using a wealth of photos, mostly courtesy of Tony Landis' great archive, as well as factory drawings and diagrams. Since I needed multiples of each part in order to make three or more X-15 models I made the parts modular, as patterns for resin casting. I put more and more effort into it and before long the idea was there to make them available to others as well.

As I already had a number of possible other resin set releases in mind and also was in the process of making a decal sheet I decided to do things properly and set up a web shop for ease of display, ordering and promotion.
All parts are patterned, cast and packed by myself, it's (nearly) a true one-man-operation. I have also created the artwork for the decals, masks, photo etch and the scale drawings. Many recent products are 3D CAD designed and the masters 3D printed. The decals are printed by Cartograf and Microscale and the masks are manufactured by Mal Mayfield/Miracle Masks.

I try to deliver the products in safe but minimal packaging with well thought out instructions to make the build experience as easy and fun as possible. My aim is to give you well researched and carefully crafted model parts that are to a standard that I would use myself because I actually do use them myself.
I hope you like the products, are happy with the level of detail, casting and printing and find them easy to use. If so, I hope you'll come back for more!
All the best

As you can see, this is a company set up by a modeller for modellers so there is an understanding of construction and the needs of the users.

HMR 48029- F-4 Phantom Fuselage Correction Set

The internet was buzzing with the release of the Zoukei Mura F-4’s (C/D/J versions) but within the excitement was the negative feedback on the incorrect shapes of the rear sections of the fuselages.

Hypersonic has created a correction set to deal with these inaccuracies.

This is a set of aft fuselage half parts that correct the shape error on the engine shoulders of the Zoukei Mura short nose Phantoms. In addition to the re-shaped geometry, some surface detail has been improved. Please note that this is not a drop-fit replacement set. Cutting of the fuselage is required, as well as some sanding of the remaining kit plastic and then puttying and blending of the new resin parts.

Self-adhesive cutting guide strips are provided that will mark the precise cutting line and guide your tool.

The set consists of the port and starboard fuselage parts, a set of mask strips and 4 pages of detailed instructions to help you carry out the process. Panel lines and details are recessed and very fine, in fact so fine that gentle sanding may see them dissappear, so take care.

Conclusion

This correction set will certainly add some quality detail to your models but be warned, it is more suitable for the intermediate and advance modeller due to the nature of the construction and kit surgery required to use it.

It’s also nice to see a new manufacturer of resin come into the hobby.

Recommended for experienced builders of the venerable F-4.

Thanks to Hypersonic Models for the review samples.
