FirstLook

Ukranian company Reskit has a number of Mirage III wheel sets in its range. Today we are examining their 1/48 scale Mirage III (D/E/R/S) Wheel Set.

This set should be suitable for Kinetic, Hobby Boss and Heller Mirage kits, and is also appropriate for the Mirage IIIO variant too.

Reskit' Mirage III wheel set comprises five pieces cast in dark grey resin. The main wheels are cast in two parts each - the tyre and outer hub, with the inner hub being a separate piece. The nose wheel is supplied as a single part.

The tyres and subtly bulged and flattened. They also feature raised "Michelin Air" lettering on the sidewalls and recessed radial tread. Bolt, rim and other detail is beautifully crisp.

The wheels are cast onto strips, which should almost literally be a snap to clean up. The main wheel inner hubs are cast onto a block. A few minutes with a razor saw and a sanding stick should free these.

You'll need to drill out the holes for the axles. Check the diameter of the axle on your kit before committing to drilling.

Casting quality is perfect on my sample.

Conclusion

This is a simple and well-detailed set that will enhance any 1/48 scale Mirage IIID/E/O/R/S kit..

Thanks to Eduard for the samples and images.
