Biullseye Model Aviation has released a new decal set, Fleet Hot Rods, covering the Douglas A-4C Skyhawk .

The decals are designed for the Hasegawa 1/48 scale kit.

The set includes eight varied marking options for Westpac and Med cruise Scooters.

The subjects on this new release were adorned with a wide range of tail and fuselage markings. These will result in some very unique Scooters on your display shelves.

The eight Skyhawks covered are:

  • VA-15 USS Forrestal, Med Cruise 1968-1969, COs jet

  • VA-144 USS Constellation, WestPac 1964, Lt. Jg Everett Alvarez shot down in this jet

  • VA-94 USS Hancock, WestPac 1967, CAG-5 jet

  • VA-172 USS Shangri-La, WestPac 1970, CAG-8 jet

  • VA-172 USS Franklin Roosevelt, WestPac 1966-1967, CAG-1 jet

  • VA-34 USS Forrestal, Med Cruise 1968-1969, CAG-17 jet

  • VA-64 USS America, Med Cruise 1967, COs jet

  • VA-146 USS Ranger, WestPac 1965-1966 "Busy Bee 604" Lt. Hugh Magee shot down June 25, 1966

All of the aircraft are finished in the standard US Navy scheme of the era, Light Gull Grey and White.

Decals are beautifully printed by Catrograf.

The main decal sheet is 12" x 8.5".

The second decal sheet containing stencils, fuselage and national markings measures 8.5" x 5".

Instructions are supplied on four double-sided letter-sized sheets. They are as well researched and thorough as you would expect from Bullseye.

Port side views and scrap view wing illustrations of each of the eight subjects are included.

Also supplied are two very useful pages dedicated to weapons configuration.

This is a great idea and something that I wish was included with more modern aircraft decal sheets.

A stencil placement guide in included too.

The instructions are rounded out with acknowledgements.
