This large decal set will enable the modeller to build a variety of colourful range of Hawks from around the world.

The triple sheets, plus two small additions, are presented in a zip-lock sleeve and are accompanied by a twenty-four page A5 instruction booklet that makes the sleeve a pretty tight fit. It is the sort of set that would appeal to a group purchase as I would be surprised to see the whole set of seventeen aircraft built by a single modeller.

The decals are beautifully printed with great register, colour and density with little carrier film but all of the stencils will need to come from the donor kits. Interspersed through the booklet are a small number of colour images of the subject, some of them being a little small to be useful. Also useful is a card containing paint colour matches for Humbrol, Xtracolour, Hataka, ModelMaster, Gunze Sanyo, Tamiya and Lifecolor.

The subjects comprise:

  • two Mark 209s from Indonesia, one in a great blue-green, blue and grey scheme,

  • Mark 109 trainer of the same air force,

  • three Mark 208s of the Malaysian AF in grey overall and one with anniversary tail markings,

  • two Mark 108s of the Malaysian AF, one with a decorative 25th Anniversary scheme on the tail,

  • two mark 51As of the Finnish AF, one with a great blue and white display scheme,

  • a red and white aerobatic team Mark 132 from the Indian AF,

  • a camouflaged Mark 166 of the Royal AF of Oman,

  • a grey Mark 203 of the same force,

  • a two-grey Mark 165 of the Royal Saudi AF,

  • a grey Mark 129 of the Royal Bahraini AF,

  • a camouflaged Mark 67 of the Republic of Korea AF, and finally

  • a two-grey Mark 127 of the RAAF.

The full colour instructions give very clear location diagrams for the individual markings and a couple of generic drawings show stencil and generic mark locations.

The very decorative aerobatic schemes are covered by the two extra decal sheets. For each example there is a list of accessories from Air-Graphics to enhance or convert the kit. Also useful is a card containing paint colour matches for Humbrol, Xtracolour, Hataka, ModelMaster, Gunze Sanyo, Tamiya and Lifecolor.
