Biullseye Model Aviation has released another new decal set, Fleet Phantoms V, covering six more McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom IIs.

The decals are designed for the gorgeous new 1/48 scale Tamiya kit.

The set includes six varied marking options.

The subjects on this new release were adorned with a colourful selection of tail and fuselage markings. These will result in some very unique Phantoms on your display shelves.

48-021 covers F-4Bs, markings are designed to fit Tamiya kits, but they should be just fit with minor modifications on Academy kits.

  • VF-14 CAG jet off FDR in 1964. Jet has the plain fin cap without RHAW antennas, there are aftermarket plain fin caps available.

  • VF-33 as marked for the F-4 demonstration at the 1967 Paris Airshow. Jet departed Paris and took part in the missions after the mistaken attack on the USS Liberty by the IAF

  • VF-41 Med Cruise 1971

  • VF-11 from Forrestal, WestPac 1967. This is the jet that the Zuni rocket was accidentally fired from that started the devastation fire on the USS Forrestal.

  • VF-11 CAG jet, Med Cruise 1969/1970

  • VF-74 CAG jet, Med Cruise 1969/1970

All of the aircraft are finished in the standard US Navy scheme of the era, Light Gull Grey and White with a choice of black, cream or white nose cones.

Three different styles of fin tip are presented on this set, including AN/APR-30 antennae, so check your references and be prepared to buy the appropriate after-market relacement from Eduard, Flying Leathernecks or Hypersonic Models.

Decals are beautifully printed by Catrograf.

The two large decal sheets are each 12" x 8.5".

The second decal sheet containing stencils, walkway markings in black, medium grey and Light Gull Grey, and national markings. It would appear that sufficient stencil, walkway and national markings are supplied for two complete models plus plenty of leftovers.

Instructions are supplied on two double-sided letter-sized sheets. They are as well researched and thorough as you would expect from Bullseye.

Port side views and scrap view wing illustrations for each of the six subjects are included.

Also supplied is a useful guide dedicated to several typical fighter and ground attack weapons configuration.

A stencil placement guide in included too.

The instructions are rounded out with acknowledgements.
