Xtradecal, 1/48 scale

Xtradecal has just released a series of new decal sets that covers six 1/48 scale Westland Sea King options.

Today we are looking at Part 3.

These will be suitable for the new Airfix kit.

A nice variety of camouflage and markings are offered, including Olive Drab, Grey and Desert Sand schemes, along with some interestinf markings.

Details are as follows:

1. Westland Sea King HU.5 XV705, '821'/'21'/'CU' of 771 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy, based at RNAS Culdrose,

2. Westland Commando HC.4 ZE427, 'K' of 848 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy, based at RNAS Yeovilton, January, 2016.

3. Westland Sea King HAS.6 ZG818, '71'/'N' of 814 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy, based at RAF Culdrose, 1991

4. Westland Commando HC.4 ZG822, 'WF', of 848 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy, based at RNAS Yeovilton, UK based at King Khalid Military City, Saudi Arabia during 'Operation Granby, 1991.

5. Westland Commando HC.4 ZA290, 'VC' of 846 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy in which; took part in 'Operation Mikado' Chile, 18 May, 1982.

6. Westland Sea King HAS.5 serial unknown sent to the Ukraine Air Force, Ukraine, 2023

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across two folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets.

Both side views and other views are provided.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are perfectly printed and feature thin carrier film.

The release of these decals is great timing for the new Airfix 1/48 scale Sea King and will offer welcome variety for anyone building the kit.
