Eduard's 1/48 scale
A6M2-K Two-Seater Zero

A6M2-K Two-Seater Zero

Description

Here is my new A6M2-K kamikaze two-seater Zero from the Eduard 1:48 Kamikaze A6M5/A6M2-K Dual Combo Limited Edition, Kit No. 11184

The model has been built straight from of the box.

Fit was almost flawless.

I really appreciated the inclusion of an assembly jig for the six-part engine cowling.

Surface textures are up to the world class standards of their Spitfires, Mustangs, Wurgers and other new generation releases; and in my opinion the two-seater cockpit detail is truly gorgeous. I actually chose to use a few of the plastic parts instead of colour photo-etch. They looked too nice to be left on the sprues.

The colour photo-etched instrument panel, radio faces, consoles and harnesses are great enhancements for the front office though.

This was my first project painted using my new Harder & Steenbeck Infinity CR Plus 2024 airbrush. It performed perfectly using both the fine line 0.25 and wider 0.44mm Tips

Paints are mostly SMS Lacquers used straight from the bottle to the airbrush - no thinning required.

I’ll be writing this up for a big two-part article in Issues 239 and 240 of Model Airplane International magazine.

In the meantime, buy and build with confidence!
