Academy's 1/48 scale
P-47D Thunderbolt

by Tadeu Pinto Mendes

P-47D Thunderbolt

Description

The P-47 was one of the most representative aircraft of World War II, used not only by the USA but also by several Allied air forces.

I chose to make one of the last aircraft used by the Brazilian Air Force in Italy, from which they carried out ground attacks.

These last ones were delivered in natural aluminum with USAAF insignia. The Brazilian Air Force only applied their insignia on top and painted the rudder in green and yellow, which are the main colors of the Brazilian flag.

This aircraft in question used the lower cowling of one of the aircraft that were in Olive Drab and Neutral Grey.
