Eduard has produced a range of accessories for the spectacular Airfix 1/24 scale Spitfire Mk.VIII.
Tonight I review four of Eduard's useful upgrades for this kit.
23040 - Eduard Photo-Etch - Spitfire Mk.VIII for Airfix kit
One coloured and one brass photo-etched fret are in the bag.

The colour parts focus on the instrument panel.

The brass photo-etched fret provides a replacement pilot's entry door and other cockpit details.

Detailed assembly instructions are included.

624005 - Eduard PRINT - Spitfire Mk.VIII Exhaust Fishtail for Airfix kit
Twelve 3d printed resin parts are packed securely in a hinged crystal case..

These are individual exhaust stacks, handed right and left.

The parts will be very easy to remove from the fine strips on the base.

Each stack is perfectly hollowed out and feature authentic weld beads along the centre seam and the ends of the stacks.

Detailed assembly instructions are included.
624006 - Eduard PRINT - Spitfire Mk.VIII 4 spoke wheels for Airfix kit
This simple set comprises five 3d printed grey resin pieces.

These are the tyres, outside wheel hubs and tail wheel.

The parts will be very easy to remove from their bases.

Detail looks great, with raised letters and numbers and radial patterns on the tyres.

The wheel hubs feature air valve stems and detail inside the spokes.

Detailed assembly instructions are also included.
LX009 Masks - Spitfire Mk.VIII for Airfix kit
These are one-sided masks for the outside of the clear pieces.

Die-cut, self-adhesive masks for the kit windscreen and wheels.

These represent a fast and accurate solution for a time consuming and often disliked modelling task.
The use of the photo-etched fret will result in a noticeably better detailed cockpit, especially the instrument panel. This will be very visible in this large scale.
The PRINT exhausts and wheels offer a superior alternative to the kit's plastic parts.
The masks will save a little time and add sharp precision to the clear parts on the canopy too!
These are very useful investments for your Airfix 1/24 scale Spitfire Mk.VIII..
