Xtradecal has just released a series of new decal sets that covers six 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.IXe options

This decal set is perfectly timed for the brand new 1/48 scale Airfix kit.

 

 

A nice variety of markings are offered.

 

 

Details are as follows:

  1. Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe, PT396, 'EJC', flown by Wing Commander Jack Charles of Tangmere Wing, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Tangmere, 1949.

  2. Supermarine Spitfire LF.Mk.IXe, '78', of 26th Guard Fighter Regiment, Soviet Air Force, based in the Leningrad area, Spring, 1945.

  3. Supermarine Spitfire LF.Mk.IXe, 'Z', of 73 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at Prkos Airfield, Yugoslavia, Spring,

  4. Supermarine Spitfire LF.Mk.IXe, SL652, 'IR-1', flown by K. Mrizek of LZ 3, Czech Air Force, based at Brno-Slatina, 1946.

  5. Supermarine Spitfire LF.Mk.IXe, 5536, 'JS.B', of 60 Photographic Survey Squadron, South African Air Force, based at Swartkop Air Base, 1949.

  6. Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe, PV181,'RAB', flown by Wing Commander Rolf A. Berg of 132 Wing, ALG B.79 Woendstrecht Royal Air Force, based in the Netherlands, Winter, 1944.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets.

 

 

Both side views and other views are provided.

 

 

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

 

 

The decals are perfectly printed and feature thin carrier film.

The release of these decals will offer welcome variety for anyone building either the Airfix or Eduard 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk.IXe, both lovely models.
