FirstLook

Eduard has produced a range of accessories for the 1/48 scale MiniArt P-47M Thunderbolt kit.

Tonight I review two of Eduard's useful upgrades.

3DL48 367 SPACE - P-47M Thunderbolt for MiniArt kit

This SPACE set comprises 3D printed decals for the instrument panel and placards, plus photo-etched parts for the half-tone harness straps and throttles.

I have used SPACE sets on several of my projects and I have been very pleased with the results. The 3D printed decals look really good in real life.

I found that the 3D decals barely needed to be wet at all before they would slide - or sometimes fall - off the backing sheet. I used Gator’s Grip acrylic glue to secure the 3D printed decals to the plastic kit parts.

Detailed instructions are included.

Eduard's photo-etched upgrade offers super detail with one colour and one brass photo-etched fret providing detail focused on the cockpit and exterior.

The frets are packed full of detail parts.

Specifically, the colour fret supplies a replacement layered instrument panel, boxes, consoles, throttle, switches, knobs and more.

This will be a very visible update for your MiniArt 1/48 Spitfire P-47M Thundebolt.

The ZOOM set is a lower priced offering with the colour photo-etched fret alone. These are usually my go-to option.

Conclusion

The use of the ZOOM photo-etched fret or the 3d printed SPACE package will result in a noticeably better detailed cockpit, especially for the instrument panel and harness straps.

These are worthy investments for your MiniArt 1/48 scale P-47M..
