Introduction

Being a fan of the A-6 Intruder, I really like this new addition to the WARchive series.

The author, Chris Banyai-Riepl, is no stranger to producing quality texts on aviation subjects.

His most recent effort, the multi-volume WARchive series, is based on an extensive collection of aviation images taken by his father, aviation photographer, Will A. Riepl; hence the "WAR" in WARchives. This is nice addition to the previous volume on The Century Series Aircraft.

Well done, Chris!

FirstRead

As with all the WARchives books, this one is filled with never-before-seen pics.

The Grumman A-6 Intruder and EA-6B Prowler are  presented in various liveries. In addition, the book includes a nice selection of detail shots great for the modeler.

The book comprises of 5 chapters:

            •           Origins

            •           Navy Intruders

            •           Marine Corp Intruders

            •           Navy Prowlers

            •           Up Close

Conclusion

This is a nice addition to the WARchive Series.

This book doesn't provide the level detail found in books focused on modelers pictures of landing gear, hydraulic lines, etc, etc.. But, for those planning on building an Intruder and/or Prowler, this book provides plenty of painting inspiration :)

Highly Recommended for Intruder and Prowler fans everywhere!
